HOMELAB / LEGAL / VERSION 1.0

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how SummitCore Digital LLC, doing business as HomeLab, handles personal information in connection with our website, paid memberships, DIY tutorials, tool guides, maintenance checklists, ebooks and customer communications. Business address: 611 South DuPont Highway, Suite 102, Dover, DE 19901, United States. Privacy contact: Help@TryHomelab.com.

1. Scope and who is responsible

SummitCore Digital LLC is responsible for the personal information it handles for HomeLab, subject to applicable privacy law. In jurisdictions using the term, we act as the controller of information used to operate our website and membership business. This Policy covers information collected through HomeLab, account and billing interactions, customer support and communications. It does not govern a third-party website you visit through a link or a provider’s independent processing.

This is Version 1.0, effective when first published. We will identify material revisions and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. A privacy notice explains processing; it is not, by itself, consent to optional cookies, marketing, sensitive-data processing or other activities that require a separate choice.

2. Information you provide

Depending on the features you use, you may provide your name, email address, login information, membership selections, contact preferences, order information, billing address and correspondence. If you contact support, we receive your message and any attachments you choose to include. A newsletter subscription gives us your email address and related subscription preferences.

If a feature permits project questions, reviews, comments or uploads, the content you submit may include photographs, descriptions of your home and other personal information. Provide only what is needed. Do not submit passwords, payment-card numbers, government identifiers, access codes or unnecessary health information. Remove personal documents, identifiable people and security-sensitive details from home photographs before sharing.

3. Payment and transaction information

Purchasing a membership or digital resource involves information needed to process payment, confirm an order, manage renewals, prevent fraud and handle cancellations or refunds. This can include the plan, price, currency, transaction identifiers, billing contact details, subscription status, payment status and limited payment-method information supplied by the payment service.

Payment details you enter into a payment provider’s interface are handled under that provider’s own privacy and security arrangements. The exact information HomeLab receives depends on the payment integration. Please do not email full card details or banking credentials to us. We can normally investigate a billing issue using an order identifier and account email.

4. Technical, usage and cookie information

When you visit an online service, the infrastructure serving it may process an IP address, request date and time, requested pages, browser or device information, operating system, referring page, security events and diagnostic information. Where account or learning features record activity, information may also include sign-in events, content access and saved preferences or progress.

Cookies, local storage and similar technologies may support authentication, security, preferences and permitted measurement. The specific technologies depend on the features and integrations enabled. Optional analytics or advertising technologies, if used, require the disclosures and consent or opt-out mechanisms applicable in your location. This Policy does not enable those technologies or provide consent for them.

5. Where information comes from

We receive information directly from you, from your interactions with the Services and from service providers carrying out functions such as payment processing, hosting, account access, email delivery or support. For example, a payment service may tell us whether a subscription payment succeeded, and a delivery service may provide information about whether an account message was delivered.

If you use an optional third-party sign-in or connected service, we receive only the information made available through that connection and your settings. Do not assume that connecting a service gives HomeLab access to your entire account. Review the permissions shown at connection time. We may also receive information needed to investigate fraud or a legal complaint from the people involved.

6. How we use information

We use information as needed to provide the features you request, create and protect accounts, deliver purchased access and downloads, process orders and recurring payments, manage cancellation and refund requests, communicate about membership and respond to support questions. We also use relevant information to maintain records, meet tax and legal obligations, investigate misuse and resolve disputes.

Where permitted, information about how the Services work can help diagnose errors, understand which resources are useful and improve accessibility, content and navigation. Marketing communications and optional personalization are subject to the choices and legal requirements that apply. We do not treat a request for support as blanket permission for unrelated promotional messages or a new incompatible use of your information.

7. Legal grounds where required

Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, our legal grounds depend on the purpose: contractual necessity for requested membership access and payment administration; legal obligations for required records and lawful requests; legitimate interests for proportionate security, fraud prevention, support and service improvement; and consent where required for optional marketing, cookies or other activities.

When relying on legitimate interests, we consider the impact on your rights and reasonable expectations. You may object in circumstances provided by law. You may withdraw consent at any time for future processing without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Information required by law or necessary to perform a contract may still need to be processed on another lawful basis.

8. Providers and other recipients

We may disclose information to providers supporting the Services, such as website hosting and infrastructure, payment and subscription management, authentication, email delivery, customer support, security and permitted analytics. The information disclosed should be relevant to the function they perform. Where required, providers are bound by appropriate contractual confidentiality, security and processing restrictions.

We may also disclose relevant information to professional advisers, insurers or authorities when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect people or systems, investigate fraud or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If the business is involved in a merger, financing, restructuring or sale, information may be reviewed or transferred with appropriate safeguards and any legally required notice. We do not disclose home-project submissions publicly merely because they were sent privately to support.

9. Public features and external websites

If you deliberately submit content to a public review, discussion or community feature, other users and third parties may view it. Public information may be copied, indexed or retained outside our control. Choose carefully what you publish. A private account field or support message is not automatically a public submission.

Links to retailers, manufacturers, videos or other websites lead to services with their own privacy practices. Embedded third-party content, where present, may involve direct requests to its provider. Review the provider’s notices and available settings before using it. HomeLab is responsible for its own handling of information, not the independent practices of an external business.

10. Cookie choices and browser signals

You can use browser controls to block or delete cookies and manage local storage. Blocking technologies needed for sign-in, checkout or security may prevent those functions from working. If a cookie preference tool is provided, use it to manage optional categories; necessary technologies may remain enabled when legally permitted. A cookie preference does not necessarily unsubscribe you from email, and email preferences do not control browser storage.

Where applicable law requires consent, nonessential tracking must wait for a valid choice and must be capable of withdrawal. Where a recognized opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, must be honored for a relevant processing activity, we will honor it as required. Traditional “Do Not Track” settings do not have a universally agreed technical implementation and should not be relied on as the only way to submit a privacy request.

11. Marketing preferences

You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the unsubscribe mechanism in a message or by contacting Help@TryHomelab.com. Allow a reasonable processing period consistent with applicable law. We may keep a limited suppression record so that your unsubscribe choice continues to be honored rather than accidentally adding you back to a list.

Essential messages about payments, access, security, cancellations, requested support or significant service changes may still be sent while relevant. If you forward an email or share a promotional link, remember that it may contain account-related information. Do not share password-reset or account-access links.

12. Retention and deletion

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to legal obligations and legitimate retention needs. Relevant factors include whether your account is active, whether a subscription or dispute remains open, recordkeeping requirements, fraud prevention, security needs and the time needed to complete a deletion request.

Account and support information may be deleted or de-identified when no longer needed. Transaction records may need to remain for tax, accounting, legal or charge-dispute purposes. Backup copies may persist until ordinary backup cycles complete, with access restricted. An unsubscribe request may require retaining a suppression record. We will explain relevant exceptions when responding to a valid deletion request. Deleting personal information is not a substitute for explicitly canceling recurring billing.

13. Security and your precautions

We use reasonable organizational and technical measures appropriate to the information and risks involved, including appropriate access restrictions and provider selection. No website, transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. We cannot promise that unauthorized access, accidental loss or another security incident will never occur.

Use a unique password if password-based access is offered, secure the email account used for membership and do not share login or recovery links. Notify Help@TryHomelab.com if you suspect an account-security problem. If a personal-data breach occurs, we will assess it and notify affected people or regulators where applicable law requires. Avoid sending sensitive information through ordinary email unless specifically necessary and an appropriate channel has been agreed.

14. Your access and control rights

Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have rights to request access to personal information, obtain a copy, correct inaccurate information, delete information, restrict or object to certain processing, request portability, withdraw consent or receive information about recipients and purposes. These rights are subject to legal exceptions and do not necessarily apply to every record.

To make a request, email Help@TryHomelab.com with “Privacy request” in the subject and explain what you want us to do. Use your account email where possible. We may ask for proportionate information to verify identity or authority, but please do not send government identification unless we explain why it is necessary and offer an appropriate method. We respond within the time required by applicable law and explain permitted extensions or reasons for refusing a request.

15. United States state privacy rights

If a comprehensive state privacy law applies to HomeLab and to you, you may have rights to know or access specified information, correct or delete it, obtain a portable copy and opt out of covered sales, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising or certain profiling. Some laws provide rights to limit specified uses of sensitive information. Definitions and business-applicability thresholds vary; this section does not claim that every state law applies to every visitor.

The categories described above can include identifiers, commercial and subscription information, internet or device activity and information you voluntarily submit. The purposes and recipient categories are described in this Policy. Whether a particular disclosure constitutes a “sale,” “sharing” or “targeted advertising” depends on the actual integration and applicable law, not merely whether money is exchanged. Contact us to request details about processing relevant to you or to exercise an applicable opt-out.

Where legally permitted, an authorized agent may act for you with appropriate proof of authority; identity verification may still be required. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. If we deny a request and an appeal right applies, reply to Help@TryHomelab.com with “Privacy appeal” and the original request details. We will explain the decision and any further complaint options required by law.

16. EEA, UK and other international visitors

HomeLab is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the United States or other countries used by our providers, whose privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where a regulated international transfer occurs, we use the safeguards required by the applicable law, such as approved contractual protections or another valid transfer mechanism. We do not rely on a general website visit as a substitute for required transfer safeguards.

If the GDPR, UK GDPR or similar law applies, you may complain to the competent data protection authority, including where you live or work or where you believe an infringement occurred. You may contact us first, but doing so is not a condition of making a complaint. Contact Help@TryHomelab.com for information about a relevant processing purpose, lawful basis or transfer safeguard.

17. Children and household information

Paid memberships are intended for adults aged 18 or older. The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not seek personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information without an appropriate legal basis, contact Help@TryHomelab.com so we can investigate and take appropriate steps.

Home-learning materials may be read in a household, but that does not mean children should create paid accounts, submit personal information or attempt tasks without appropriate adult supervision. A parent or guardian sharing a project photograph should avoid including children or identifying details unless necessary and lawfully authorized. Local rules may provide additional protection to minors, which we will respect where applicable.

18. Automated decisions and sensitive information

Ordinary service functions may use automated processing for payments, account access, spam screening or security checks. If a decision with a legally significant or similarly significant effect is made solely through automated processing in circumstances where the law gives you safeguards, you may ask for the applicable explanation, human review or opportunity to contest it.

HomeLab does not need precise location, government identification, detailed medical information or home-security credentials for ordinary DIY learning. Do not provide these unnecessarily. A photograph can reveal an address, people, a location or other details even if you did not intend it to. If you accidentally submit sensitive information, contact us to discuss removal, subject to appropriate verification and lawful retention requirements.

19. Changes and purpose limitations

We may update this Policy when our Services, providers or legal obligations change. Material changes will be communicated as required, for example through a notice on the website or an account message. Where new processing requires consent, we will request it before beginning that processing. Continued browsing alone will not be treated as consent where an affirmative choice is required.

We will not use a revision to retroactively authorize a materially incompatible use of personal information without a lawful basis and any required notice or choice. You can request an accessible copy of this Policy or ask about the practices that apply to a particular feature before providing information.

20. Contact HomeLab about privacy

Controller / business: SummitCore Digital LLC, doing business as HomeLab. Email: Help@TryHomelab.com. Business mailing address: 611 South DuPont Highway, Suite 102, Dover, DE 19901, United States. Mark mailed correspondence “Privacy.” Include enough information to identify your account or interaction and explain your request without disclosing unnecessary sensitive information.

For billing cancellation, clearly identify the request as a subscription cancellation so it can be handled separately from a privacy or deletion request. For a privacy-rights request, tell us the right you want to exercise and your country or state if relevant to determining applicable requirements. Our Terms of Service explain membership rules; this Policy explains personal-information handling and does not waive any privacy right.
